What Chess Accuracy Means
Chess accuracy estimates how closely your moves follow the┬аengine line. A┬аhigher score means you stayed closer to┬аthe┬аbest moves throughout the┬аgame.
The┬аnumber is┬аmost useful when you compare it┬аagainst your own rating, your time control, and┬аyour previous games. A┬а78 percent game can be┬аexcellent for┬аone player and┬аdisappointing for┬аanother.

What Changes Your Accuracy
- Time control┬атАФ Bullet and┬аblitz usually produce lower accuracy than rapid or┬аclassical because you simply have less time to┬аcalculate.
- Position type┬атАФ Wild tactical positions punish one inaccurate move much harder than calm endgames.
- Game state┬атАФ Winning positions can still lead to┬аlow accuracy if┬аthe┬аengine sees cleaner conversions than the┬аmoves you chose.

- Stockfish evaluates each position and┬аthe┬аbest available move.
- Your played move is┬аcompared to┬аthat engine recommendation.
- The┬аevaluation loss is┬аconverted into win-probability loss.
- Those losses are aggregated into a┬аfinal accuracy score for┬аthe┬аgame.

Different platforms calculate accuracy differently. Chess.com uses CAPS, while chess.rodeo follows the┬аLichess-style win-probability approach.
