Redesigned game analysis page

We completely rebuilt the analysis page: a customizable dashboard of cards, chess.com-style live engine lines, variations right in the move list, and a move-times chart under the evaluation graph.

  • -Customizable analysis dashboard: the cards — engine, evaluation graph, accuracy, move list, move times, key moments — can be dragged, collapsed, hidden, pinned and laid out in one or two columns. Your layout is remembered
  • -chess.com-style live engine lines: up to 5 variations with evaluations, and clicking a move plays the line right on the board. On already-analyzed positions the lines load instantly from the cloud
  • -Variations right in the move list, Lichess-style: under inaccuracies and mistakes you get a short verdict and the best line in one click. You can turn these details off in settings
  • -The move-times chart is now shown by default under the evaluation graph and reads clearly in the light theme
  • -Move stepping is now smooth — the pieces keep up when you scrub quickly with the arrow keys
  • -Small touches: the counter shows full moves, and at the starting position you see the game date and opening code (ECO) instead of a service label

Smarter puzzles, daily streaks, and a better Play vs AI

The puzzles section got noticeably more useful: honest feedback on mistakes, free exploration after solving, and a fair rating. We added a daily streak for everyday activity and polished playing against the AI.

  • -Puzzles — spoiler-free mistake review: play a wrong move and the piece snaps back so you can try again right away. Why the move was worse is explained only when you tap «Explain» — we don't reveal the best move up front
  • -Puzzles — free exploration after solving: once you solve a puzzle (or view the solution), the board becomes an analysis surface — play on for either side, the engine replies and rates each of your moves. None of it affects your rating
  • -Puzzles — fair rating: only the first attempt counts, so replaying the same puzzle no longer farms points. An alternative checkmate is now accepted as a correct solution
  • -Puzzles — leaderboard: by rating, solved this week, and best streak
  • -Daily streak: everyday activity (solved puzzles, analysed games) builds a streak with a badge in the menu; you can also pick your time zone manually in settings
  • -Play vs AI: a check highlight, a short pause before the result banner (so you actually see the final move), and after the game you can browse through it instead of being dropped onto the new-game screen
  • -Analysis and stability: tactical-motif detection in your games, a faster home page, and a batch of fixes from error reports

A fresh look and live stats on the home page

We refreshed the look of the whole site — one clean editorial type style across the home page, blog, games page and settings. The home page now shows live platform numbers, and the games page gained an «Archive» spread with last-30-days metrics.

  • -A new unified design: the home page, blog, games page and settings now share one editorial style and a new typeface
  • -Live platform stats on the home page: total games imported and how many in the last hour, how many analysed, today's top rating, puzzles solved
  • -Games page: an «Archive» spread with last-30-days metrics — win rate, average accuracy and your best win streak
  • -Example games right in the import form — open a model master game (Carlsen vs Gukesh) or a typical amateur game in one click
  • -A refreshed blog with a real table of contents for every article, plus a «Frequently asked» section on the home page

Puzzles, in-browser analysis, and Google sign-in

There is a whole new puzzles section — solve positions, train tactical motifs, and watch your rating climb. Game analysis now runs directly in your browser. Sign in with Google in a single click.

  • -New puzzles section: millions of positions, rating goes up for solved and down for failed ones, browse by theme — fork, pin, mate in N, endgame, castling, and dozens more
  • -Game analysis now runs in your browser — free and unlimited; Pro members can opt for even deeper analysis
  • -Sign in with Google in one click — no need to wait for a magic link if you are already logged in to Google
  • -A 6-digit code now arrives alongside the magic link — handy when forwarding the link is awkward (QR on your laptop, email on your phone)
  • -The home page is noticeably faster — especially on mobile
  • -The defeated king now tilts 45° with a red overlay on the mating square

Unlimited video and Pro customization

Video export is now available to everyone with no limits and without server storage. Visual customization is now part of the Pro subscription.

  • -Videos are no longer saved on the server — but you can regenerate a video for any past game as many times as you like. That's why the "My Videos" section has been removed
  • -No more limits on video generation — make as many as you want
  • -Visual customization is now Pro-only: hide the chess.rodeo watermark, Brutalist Print effects, poster intro with images, custom watermark upload, timeline editor (Editorial / Viral / Custom)
  • -Pro users can also record themselves on camera during the game

PWA install, video customization, and bug fixes

chess.rodeo can now be installed as an app on your desktop or phone. Video export gained board color options, motion trails, and a watermark, plus a batch of bug fixes. Importing a single-game PGN takes you straight to its analysis.

  • -PWA install — chess.rodeo can be added to your desktop or home screen as a standalone app
  • -Video: new settings — custom board colors, piece motion trails, customizable watermark, 16:9 horizontal format
  • -Video: export fixes — player ratings and move counter now display correctly; captured pieces appear on the correct side when the board is flipped; watermark and fonts render from the first frame
  • -Video: smooth animation — fixed a render issue where pieces would stutter in the final MP4 (preview was fine)
  • -PGN import — if the file contains a single game, you now land directly on its analysis instead of the games list

New move icons, faster backend, and video timeline

  • -Move classification icons (brilliant, blunder, etc.) are now custom SVG glyphs instead of font ligatures — sharper, more consistent, with fresh designs
  • -All classification colors are unified across the board badge, move list, analysis block, summary stats, and evaluation graph
  • -Video export now has a segment-based timeline: hook, poster, speedrun, freeze, and ending — with smart defaults and preset templates
  • -Player avatars now load more reliably from Chess.com
  • -Chrome extension redirect now correctly sets board orientation to the importing player's perspective

More practical study moments and easier PGN imports

New study moments and more reliable game links

Insights now include Study Moments for practical training examples, and analysis links preserve game context more reliably when you open or share a game.

  • -New Study Moments in Insights now surface three practical patterns: overpressing good positions, missing punishments, and giving counterplay
  • -Study Moments focuses on practical mistakes with real training value, instead of mostly surfacing time-scramble chaos or positions that stayed easily winning anyway
  • -Each Study Moments category can be expanded to show more examples when you want to dig deeper
  • -Game links now preserve player context and board perspective in the URL more consistently when opened from lists or shared with someone else
