Is chess.rodeo really free?
Game analysis is free — import games from Chess.com, Lichess, or upload PGN files and get Stockfish analysis without daily limits. Premium is for advanced extras like auto-import, Study Moments, Opening Mistakes, and Repertoire Explorer.
What chess engine do you use?
We use Stockfish 17, the strongest open-source chess engine in the world. Analysis runs on our servers at depth 15+, with many positions pre-analyzed at depth 20+ from the Lichess database for instant results.
How is accuracy calculated?
We use the same accuracy formula as Lichess. Each move's centipawn loss is converted to win probability, then averaged across all moves. This gives you a percentage that reflects how close your moves were to the engine's top choices.
Can I analyze games from any chess platform?
You can directly import games from Chess.com and Lichess using your username. For other platforms, export your games as PGN files and upload them here. We support multi-game PGN files too!
How does Game Insights work?
Game Insights reviews your analyzed games and finds patterns in your play. Free accounts use already saved analyses here, while Premium can automatically fill in missing deep analysis and unlock Study Moments, Opening Mistakes, and Repertoire Explorer.
Is there a Chrome extension?
Yes! Install our Chrome extension to analyze games directly from Chess.com with one click. After finishing a game, you'll see an "Analyze on chess.rodeo" button that imports and analyzes the game automatically.
